The EUMEDGRID Project gets successfully trough the 1st year project review in Madrid, which was held in conjunction with the ones of two "sister projects", EUChinaGRID and EELA. Although a formal document, containing remarks and recommendations by the reviewers, will be sent to the management in the following days, the first outcomes seem quite good. In particular, the reviewers highlighted the strategic importance of cooperation between Europe and the Mediterranean Countries in the creation of cross-national eInfrastructures supporting such collaborations as a driving force towards widening the European Research Area and bridging the digital divide between Europe and the neighbouring Mediterranean Countries, thus bringing them closer to each other. On the other hand, certain areas were identified in which the project could and should improve, which will be of course addressed in the proceeding of the works.
