  • How grid can help local scientists with concrete computing?
    The principle of grid computing is to share computing, storage and eventually other resources. The aim of this principle is to use in a more efficient way all this resources. The EUMEDGRID project has the aim to develop a collaborative infrastructure to implement such a principle and to promote this type of collaborative working that, as demonstrated in High Energy Physics, in Biomedicine and in many other fields, could greatly improve the effectiveness of the scientific research.

HIGHLIGHTS

The EUMEDGRID project officially ended on 29 February 2008 after 26 months of activity and got successfully through its final review on 6 May 2008.

However, the pilot infrastructure is up and EUMEDGRID applications are still supported. The project consortium is planning further activities.
